About Me
My beautiful Inka - SUp Ch. Daykeyne Class Act. The one who started me in all of this.
I have been involved in showing dogs since the year 2000 when while working for a grooming salon owned by Linda Buckley I became interested in the way they groomed and trimmed their dogs ready for the shows. I then attended my first shows and from then I had decided this was something I wanted to be a part of.
A couple of months later Tabatha Buckley brought two 4-month-old pointer puppies into the salon. While sitting and playing with them one little black and white bitch crawled into my lap and refused to leave my side for the rest of the day. I spoke to Tabatha about her potential as a show dog and before I knew it, she was mine. She became Sup Ch. Daykene Class Act “Inka” No one could have asked for a better dog to start learning about the show scene with. She was a multiple Best in Show, Best in Group, Class in Show winner, and a Gundog speciality Best in show and a Royal challenge and Best of Breed winner. As well as being a fantastic show dog with her outgoing attitude and cheeky nature she was just a great companion and much loved by many. She gained her Supreme Championship at the age of 12 but unfortunately, I had to say goodbye to her in 2015.
I have been involved with many other breeds since I started showing dogs. Handling breeds from all 7 groups I decided that any experience I could get was going to help me become a better handler. I asked questions and watched the experienced handlers to get hints as to how to do better. The breeds I have had most involvement in are Pointers, Australian Kelpies, Bullmastiffs, American Staffordshire Terriers, Weimaraners, Lagotto Romanoglo, Fox Terrier Smooths and Jack Russell Terriers.

Some of these include Aust Ch. Ghostwind Smokin Gun “Castro” A Multiple Best in group and Best in Specialty show winner. Aust Ch. In 2009, I began helping Annette Bowe of Firezan Smooth Fox Terriers. And have shown breed record holder Sup Ch. Wyninebah Checkmate as well as his son Sup Ch. Firezan Snow N Steel ( Enzo) and grandson Sup Ch. Firezan Two Stroke ( Gus) to multiple Best In Show awards and was thrilled to handle Gus to his DogsNSW Puppy of the year award.
After moving onto the property shortly afterwards I began searching for a breed of my own. I began showing Jack Russells for a NSW breeder and fell in love with the breed. My first Jack Russell Ch. Jacknthebox Timewarp "Evie" arrived shortly after I lost my beloved Inka and just helped me to cope. Evie is a multiple BIG, specialty BIS winner Royal challenge winner.
In 2010 I registered the prefix RHAEGAL My first litter produced from Evie to Jacknthebox Power Play produced me Ch. Rhaegal Clark Gable "Gabe".
In 2017, I enquired to Pam Sullivan of Baylock kennels about using her dog Ch. Baylock Fire and Ice "Jack". Shortly after my enquiry, Pam rang me and offered Jack to me due to her health issues. I jumped at the chance to own one of the last of this line and most of my breeding is based around Jack.
In corroboration with my good friend, Kelly Sokolinski ( Riverlands Kennels) I bred Jack to two of her girls Riverlands Star struck and Riverlands Black Diamond and the start of my Rhaegal progeny began.
In 2019, Pam Sullivan decided she was not going to breed anymore and instead of letting the Baylock prefix lapse, she offered it to me. After much deliberation on my part and discussion with Pam to ensure, it was what she wanted I accepted. I was very honoured to be given a prefix that is almost 65 years old and with some very well know winners over the years. I hope to continue with that in my own endeavours.
I am also a licensed Toy, Terrier, Gundog and Utility judge and have had the opportunity to judge in Australia and NZ.
